Alkavex, the steel trading arm of Alkagesta, took part in three parallel industry exhibitions in Shanghai, according to a report published by its parent company. The events — Metallurgy China 2026, Wire China 2026 and Tube China 2026 — were hosted at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre within the second China International Steel Week.
Deputy chief executive Nijat Osmanlı and China business developer Bayram Bayramli represented Alkavex during the four-day programme. Alkagesta said their meetings covered a range of participants in the steel supply chain, including producers, equipment manufacturers, trading companies and logistics providers. The company presented the visit as an opportunity to connect with both Chinese and international industry participants.
According to Alkagesta, the 24th edition of Metallurgy China featured more than 1,000 enterprises across 20,000 square metres of exhibition space. Its programme centred on the steel sector’s move towards higher-end production, smarter industrial systems and greener development. Exhibits covered steelmaking technologies, production processes, equipment and business models, alongside a focus on industry collaboration and international development.
The concurrent Wire China and Tube China exhibitions covered the wire, cable, tube and pipe sectors. Alkagesta named Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and MC-CCPIT as organisers, and said the events brought together domestic and international brands. Both exhibitions were in their 12th editions.
Alkagesta reported that Wire China and Tube China attracted more than 50,000 professional buyers from around the world. Their 2026 themes included lower-carbon and greener production, digitalisation, intelligent technologies and the use of lightweight materials in global markets.
For Alkavex, the three exhibitions offered a combined view of developments across steel production and related manufacturing sectors. Its parent company said attendance provided access to new industry developments and opportunities to engage directly with producers, traders and technology suppliers in China and internationally.
